The Angel Fund, established in 2011, provides financial assistance to care receivers in unique situations where funding, equipment, food, clothing, shelter, or other services are needed in time of financial crisis, and are not available, through alternate channels or resources.
The program was originally funded by a grant from The FISH Foundation, Inc., and according to their guidelines, we are not eligible for grant funding during the 2014 grant year. Therefore, once current funds are depleted, funding may no longer be available under this program unless specified donations are made through your contributions.

Who the Program Benefits
The Angel Fund is designed to benefit ICGMC care receivers who are facing dire circumstances, or a crisis, which can be alleviated through one-time use of funding to normalize or remediate the problem. In doing so, the program aims to provide relief, or temporary support, in a dire situation thereby reducing the attending stress and anxiety for the care receiver and enabling them to continue living in their homes safely, independently, and with dignity.
In certain circumstances, we may consider using funding, as needed, toward congregation “scholarships” to help a congregation that is unable to financially support its caregiving outreach program. For example, funds could pay for gas so a volunteer can provide transportation to a care receiver; or provide financial support for the congregation to conduct outreach to locate homebound residents.
Referrals for the Angel Fund are considered upon the recommendation of an ICGMC volunteer, Group Leader, or staff member.
Examples of qualified assistancefrom the Angel Fund can include emergency food, clothing, transportation, snow removal, yard work, household services, repairs, and equipment (e.g., special chairs, beds, wheelchairs) which provide the care receiver with needed support in a dire/urgent situation.
All funding requests for the Angel Fund should be submitted to ICGMC using the Angel Fund Request for Funding form. A funding determination will be made within 3 business days.
The maximum funding any one care receiver/household or member congregation may receive in a 12-month period is $500. (Note: No funds may be paid to the care receiver, only directly to the vendor/service provider.)
